Elf not on the Shelf- December 6, 2012
I bought an Elf on the Shelf, but I decided to hold off this year. After an extensive discussion on with other moms on Twitter, I decided she was a little too young to fully understand and appreciate the Elf. Plus, I knew she would try to touch it. That’s okay. We have a little elf in our house this year.
I can’t stop looking at this elfish little face. This picture of Charlotte perfectly captures the mischievous nature of my little girl. Oh, how I hope this stays alive in her! Even if it drives me crazy in later years.
Let’s hear it for little elves!
By-the-way…when did you start Elf on the Shelf? Did I do the right thing by waiting? I mean, she just turned 2.
We just started this year and Will will be four in March. I just wrote a post on my love/hate relationship with the Elf. John will be two in March and he couldn’t give a damn about the Elf. I think it’s probably a good call to wait another year.
Okay, cool. I think 3 or 4 is better. We’ll make a big production of her arrival etc. I’ll hop over to your site later today.
No elf here. But I agree that waiting a year isn’t a bad thing. At age 2 EVERYTHING is a toy!! Especially if it’s a mischievous elf!
Yeah, she would LOVE it. I think we would have to do everything up really high. That limits my ideas.
My 2 1/2 year old son would want to play with it, and have it drive his trucks, and he’d dump it out of his dumptruck, and throw it, and, and, and… I hope 3 1/2 will be the right age to start!
Ha! Charlotte would put it in her baby doll stroller and push it around with Elmo.
