Gourd birth- October 27, 2011

This picture has been floating around the Internet for a few days and I find it hilarious!  I hope you do too.  Happy Halloween!

I found this on The Milk Truck’s Facebook page.  I’m not sure of the original source, but here’s some more totally messed up pumpkins for you to enjoy on your Thursday.

Party Time!- October 26, 2011

We have T-minus 3 days until the party.  It is full-tilt First Birthday Party planning madness at our house.  Her party is this Sunday, October 30.  I wanted to do a Halloween themed party because it’s cute and I thought for sure she was going to be here by Halloween last year.  (Boy was I wrong.  She didn’t arrive until November 2.)

You can see from this pic of our kitchen table, there’s more orange and pink than a Lilly Pulitzer store.

I did not buy everything from some eco-friendly Etsy shop like a good little mom blogger should.  I did do some damage at Target and Party City, however.

Will Charlotte ever remember this?

No.

Does she need a two-tier cake and photo backdrop?

No.

Do we really need a First Birthday/Halloween playlist on the iPod?

No.

Did I go a little overboard?

Yes.

But, I don’t care.  I only have one first baby and one first birthday for the first baby.  I think it will be fun and sweet and perfect for Charlotte and her baby friends.

Oh, and it will also complete the insane Halloween-themed-First-Birthday-Party vision I’ve had since I found out my due date was October 28, 2010.

When Daddy dresses Baby- October 24, 2011

I worked this weekend so Greyson was left to dress Charlotte Saturday and Sunday.  I came home and this is what I found.  The shirt is size 0-6 months.  Greyson says, “She doesn’t have any clothes that are Size 11 months.”

That’s true.  She doesn’t have clothes that are size 11 months.  The whole thing made me chuckle.

My kid is so hard core- October 20, 2011

Charlotte’s teacher shot this video. Notice it was dark in the classroom. It was nap time. Ms. Danielle had put her in her crib but Charlotte was not having it. Ms. Danielle tried to put her in a bouncy seat to get her to go down. She said she turned to attend to another baby before turning around and saying “Where’s Charlotte?!”
My child had gotten up and was walking around with the chair attached to her like it was nothing.  (I mean, except when she had that near face-plant.)
Other parents may be upset that the teachers laughed at their kid and taped it. Charlotte’s teachers, however, knew I’d be mad if they did not capture this hilarity on video for me.
It’s weird. I’m so proud of her. My kid is so hard core.

Baby Art- October 19, 2011

Sometimes Charlotte comes home from school with crusty paint under her fingernails.  I know what the color du jour was based on the smudges left on her sleeves.  Some days this is slightly annoying, although they do use washable paint in the class.

If residual paint on my baby is the result of infant artistic collaboration, I can’t complain.  The Class Pumpkin made my week.  I hope it makes you smile too.

Happy (early) Halloween!
