Boozin’ with Baby Jesus- December 1, 2010
It’s December 1st and we’ve been decorating. It’s Charlotte’s first Christmas and we’re so excited. I’ve noticed some differences in our decorations this year. Have a look…
Seeing another stocking on our mantel makes my heart explode with love for my little family! (Even after Greyson pointed out it spells “Gack-g.”) I got a “C” to go with our “G” and “A”. (They’re not quite the same, but close enough.) Santa has been filling Ginger’s little stocking with dog treats for the past few years. I felt guilty that her’s wasn’t as big as ours, but any more treats than what fits in there and we’d have a canine gastrointestinal disaster. That’s no way to spend the holidays.
Our tree! What’s different? Look to the lower right…yep, that’s freshly expressed breast milk in bottles on the coffee table. That’s new for the 2010 holiday season, along with the baby in the bouncy seat to the left.
My heart swells up again when I look at Charlotte’s new pink “Baby’s First Christmas” ornament. One thing that hasn’t changed is Greyson’s Oscar the Grouch ornament right behind it. That’s been on his tree every year since 1977. (He he! So sweet! His Mom sent it to us. Yes Grey, you’re a grown man who’s wife told the Internet you have a Sesame Street Christmas ornament. Sorry.)
What’s wrong with this picture? I got some more pieces to my nativity scene. The only place I could fit it? On top of the bar. Yep, I have Baby Jesus on top of the bar.
I can’t do it folks! I can’t leave it there. Water-to-wine or not, I have to move it. I was raised a Baptist.
The best new feature in our home this Christmas? A baby chillin’ in a polka-dot turtle hoodie while Mama decorates.

Adorable. We decorated our tree today and I just love seeing my kids' first Christmas ornaments! I even have my 1977 Baby's First Christmas ornament…hope it never breaks!
OMG very cute. Cherish it now… they only sleep contentedly like that for a short time…
She's a sweetie!
beautiful!
All the added 'features' are great!
The house looks great!! The best new decoration is Charlotte of course.
