What I Wore Wednesday- August 22, 2012
I am by no means a fashionista, but I like to look pretty. Like most mamas, if I shop these days, it’s mostly for my little one. I’m trying to step it up a little. As part of the effort, I’m linking up this week with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday. Moms can link up and show off their looks. I feel a bit ridiculous taking these pictures since I am by no means a model, but it’s fun anyway.
Here’s what I wore…
This was last Monday. I had a morning meeting at the Governor’s Mansion here in Raleigh, hence the suit. I tossed the jacket by noon because it was a classic humid day here in NC.
Suit: The Limited
T-shirt: The Limited
Glasses: Dolce & Gabbana
Belt: Target
Charlotte: Carter’s bodysuit and skirt
Cookie Monster: naked
(I promise I did not take my shoeless toddler, nor a naked Muppet to meet with the Governor.)
Dress, Sweater and Belt: Target
Shoes: Old Navy
Earrings and Necklace: Made by my sweet sister at a make-your-jewelry place. No joke!
This is one of my favorite dresses. I love the orange color, the keyholes, the sash, all of it.
Dress: C. luce
Shoes: Steve by Steve Madden
Earrings and sunglasses: Target
Bracelets: Coldwater Creek from Getting Gorgeous at BlogHer ’12!
Top and shoes: Target
Jeans: Citizens of Humanity
Earrings: From a street vendor in Quepos, Costa Rica on our Honeymoon.
Jeans: Makers (I had these hemmed so I could sort of cheat it with these jeans. You know, wear with heels or flats. Yeah, I went way too far and maybe shouldn’t have worn them with these platforms. Oops! )
Top: Ann Taylor LOFT
Shoes: White House Black Market
So there you have it. That’s my “Mommy Style” as of late. I wore every one of these looks to work and out and about. Tell me what you think!

I love your orange dress. Just beautiful. You look great every day and your little one is adorable.

You look adorable. I love each of your outifts.
Thanks! It’s always hard when you become a mom to keep up the style, but I’m trying.
I love all of your dresses! Also, the way that b&w striped top naturally gets longer in the back is so chic and cool, love it.

Aw! Thanks! Yeah, she gets those eyes from my sister. I love them so much, I’m teaching her how to bat her eyes! Ha!
The coral dress is really lovely. I like the detail on the front. Looking good, mama!
Thanks! I was never big on orange or coral until lately. I’m wearing it more and more, though.
You sure do have a great mommy style!!! I love the orange dress. That color looks fantastic on you.
Thanks Ashley! You know, I went years hating the way orange and yellow looked on me, but recently I’ve been wearing a ton of it.
You look adorable in all your outfits, but I especially love the second one. Those heels are amazing!

Love them all lady! I’ll admit, I miss getting dressed for work. I know a lot of people find it a hassle but I get tired of wearing shorts and a tee. Yay for almost fall. I find jeans easier to dress up.
Oh, thank you dear! Seriously, I freakin loved reading 10 gazillion blogs about what people wore. Random! I imagine this will be a weekly thing for me. Greyson is annoyed at all my picture taking. 😉
