Best "weekend" I’ve had in awhile- May 25, 2010
So I have the lousy luck of working weekends. There is a light at the end of the tunnel as that will soon change. Having your days off on Mondays and Tuesdays is like getting your Christmas presents on December 27th. I mean, sure, whoever gave them to you got a deal on the 26th. But, you’re still having mediocre fun with no one around as you open them 2 days later.
But, this week I got the loveliest surprise for my weekend. My old friend from college and sorority sister Colleen was in town. She had a job interview and fingers crossed she’ll be moving to Raleigh. This move wouldn’t just be for a new job but, a new start for my friend who’s ready for a change in a different city. I got to take her around, we looked at new apartments, ate at some of my favorite places, and just got caught up.
She went with me as I bought my first maternity dress today! Ahhh! I needed something to wear to a wedding later this week and in June, so I sucked it up and got one. Thankfully, it doesn’t even look that maternity. This milestone reminded me of another wardrobe milestone. Colleen was there as I tried on wedding dresses for the first time. He he! Memories!
We even got to eat dinner with Sara one night. Take a look at this picture. This is us taking a few hours to just be together and not worry about careers, job interviews, ultrasound appointments, husbands, weight gain, ex-boyfriends, grad school, families, moving….whew! (Is that all we worry about.)
