The world’s most reassuring sound- May 11, 2010
Back to the doc today. I was anxious to hear Little Guacamole’s heartbeat after being sick and having to take OTC meds. (I’ve been calling the baby “Guacamole” all week since the What To Expect iPhone app says it’s the size of an avocado this week.) When the doctor put the sound thing on my belly last time we heard the heart immediately.
This time not so much. We heard all these weird noises. Not the little “thump, thump” I need as an expectant mother! Where’s my thump?!
“Wow, it’s moving so much, I have to wait for it to calm down to hear the heart,” the doctor said. She waited a moment and we heard the thumps I needed to hear.
Whew! Thank you Guacamole for cooperation. If you keep that up we’ll give you a better name, we promise.
Let’s hope our kid is a little cuter.
