Bump denial- May 13, 2010
Today on two occasions I was told that I don’t look 16 weeks pregnant. These compliments came from two women who have had babies recently. They are kind, genuine people, not catty bitches that would just say stuff like that. So, I was thrilled, even if my pants are a little tighter these days.
Friends on Facebook have asked for bump pictures. There’s no real bump per se. The way I explain it is that I look like I’ve just eaten a burger and fries, all the time. I haven’t gained any weight yet and the doctor said that was fine.
But, I did venture into the new maternity store at the mall to check it out yesterday. I went into Destination Maternity. It’s the higher-end Pea in the Pod, and the less-expensive Motherhood maternity in one store. My recent days under-the-weather prevented me from going to the store’s Grand Opening and putting my name in a raffle for free stuff. I was pleasantly surprised all my favorite designer jeans were there. I spotted a few cute tops.
I came away with a
Bella Band and
Mustela stretch mark cream. I figure I’ll have to face the fat eventually.
Target has BeBands, which are just as great as the Bellas, but much cheaper. Ask your mom if she has stretch marks, I discovered heredity determines stretch marks more than use of any creams!
