Daddy songs- February 1, 2011

Now that I’m back at work, ::boo hiss:: Greyson has stepped up his role as parent.  He works hard in the morning, and again each night taking care of our girl since my schedule is so odd.  He’s a wonderful father!  Anyone who knows him, knew he would be great.  Anyone who knows him also knew he’d be hilarious about it too.  One thing that is a constant about Greyson’s parenting is singing.
He sings to her on the couch, in her bouncy seat, in the bathtub…you name it.  He is by no means musical and his songs are typically made up and out of tune.  He often puts his own spin on popular songs.  Most recently he holds Charlotte up and lets her push up and “jump” on his knees.  The song that ensues?  Yep, you guessed it.  “Jump Around” by House of Pain.

“Pack it up, pack it in. Let me begin. I came to win. Battle me that’s a sin. I won’t tear the sack up. Punk you’d better back up…”
Yes, my husband sings this to my infant daughter and she giggles when he says “I won’t tear the sack up.”  ::sigh::
Some of his made up songs are so nice they make me cry.  Like this one…
“You got big eyes like your Mama.  You got big eyes like your Mama. You got big eyes like your Mama, that go so well with your smile.”
Sweet right?  Wait for the next verse…
”You got big poops like your Daddy.  You got big poops like your Daddy.  You got big poops like your Daddy, that go so well with your burps.”
Even crass lyrics make me love him more.

This cracked me up! It reminds me of stuff Lewis has been doing! He changes the lyrics to the songs that play over & over on Isis' toys so that we don't get tired of them. Sometimes it's really funny what we come up with!

Daddy songs are funny. When Will would have trouble with gas, Bill'd bicycle his legs and sing "Stinky Dance" to the tune of "Safety Dance." The lyrics were, "Stinky dance, stinky dance, everybody fill up your pants."
