9 months- August 4, 2011
Dear Charlotte,
This letter is two days late because we’ve been on vacation! This week has been your first trip to the beach. We’re at Topsail Island. This video shows the first time you ever saw the ocean. You have loved the beach! We set up a little pool for you and you have splashed and played with your new beach toys.
We had your 9 month appointment with the Doctor and he was so pleased with how you are growing. You are 16 lbs. 3 oz. now and 25 inches long. You are in about the 10th percentile, small, but growing at a great rate. You are scarfing up your baby food. You love everything but fruit. We just started some finger foods in the past few days. Green beans are okay, but you are not that jazzed about bananas.
Still no teeth yet, but that’s okay.
If we thought you were on the move last month, we had no idea. You crawl so fast, pull up on everything, and stand by yourself for a little bit after letting go of the couch/chair/dog. It’s all I can do to not push you back down and say “not yet.” But, I have a feeling you’ll be walking very, very soon.
It’s going by so fast little baby. You’re getting so big. We’re so proud of you. You’re such a good kid. I love you, my darling, darling girl.
Love,
Mama

I don't know if I've had occasion to mention this, but my kids first got teeth at 11 months (daughter) and at OVER 12 months (son.) Supposedly the teeth are stronger if they're late teethers…though I don't know if that's true, or an old wives' tale!
How sweet =)
