"Surprise," you’re 30- August 6, 2011
Right as we went on vacation I got sick. I had a temperature that got up to 101, I felt rotten. Thank God my sweet sister-in-law Alison was in town to help me out with Charlotte. Like most healthy adults, I seriously do not remember the last time I had a fever. I was all achy and sweaty. It was gross. I was complaining on Facebook about being sick on the first day of vacation.
I finally was feeling better Friday afternoon when Greyson says, “Let’s go out tonight.” “What?! No,” I say. “You and Al go and have fun. I’ll rest,” I said. He says, “Um., I have to tell you something. You have to go, I have a surprise party planned.” I was so unbelievably touched, excited and exasperated all at once, I looked at him and said, “You should have fought harder to keep it a surprise and convince me to go!!!!”
Greyson later scolded me for my Internet over-sharing, “Amy! What did you put on Facebook about being sick?! Everyone is texting me to find out if the party is still on. Do you have to share EVERYTHING?!”
Thank God I felt better. The night was a success. I was so happy! Almost all my favorite people in the world were there. My fever was gone, I was just sweaty. I’ll take it. These people won’t mind if I’m sweaty. Looking around the room my heart filled up.
